Living Learning English Reaccredited by the British Council with Outstanding Report
We’re proud to share some exciting news – Living Learning English has once again been reaccredited by the British Council, following an in-depth inspection in April 2025. The results? Outstanding.
This inspection looked closely at every aspect of our work: how we manage and support students, how we teach, the homes we offer, our safeguarding measures, and the overall student experience. We’re thrilled that strengths were identified across all these key areas.
“Strengths were noted in the areas of staff management, student administration, publicity, premises and facilities, learning resources, academic staff profile, academic management, teaching, care of students, accommodation, and safeguarding under 18s.”
If you’re thinking about learning English with us – or booking a course for your child – here’s what the report said, and why it matters.
Rated for Our High-Quality Teaching
The British Council confirmed the strength of our teaching model, with praise for both our teachers and our academic leadership. At Living Learning English, lessons are one-to-one and carefully tailored to each student’s needs, goals and pace.
“Suitably qualified staff are led and supported by a well-qualified and experienced academic manager to deliver carefully designed bespoke one-to-one courses.”
“All teachers created a very positive learning atmosphere.”
Inspectors saw that students were engaged, confident, and learning in ways that suited them.
“Students seemed relaxed and comfortable and teachers listened and responded naturally to students' comments and queries.”
Recognised for Our Personal Approach and Student Support
The report also highlighted the strength of our pastoral care and student preparation. From the first enquiry through to the end of the course, we make sure each student (and their family) feels supported and informed.
“Students receive a wealth of information... and a telephone call on their second day from their course manager, which includes a pastoral focus.”
Every student meets their teacher online before arrival, receives a personalised handbook, and has ongoing support from our friendly team throughout their course.
Homestay Accommodation Praised for Quality and Care
All of our home tuition students stay with their teacher – and the homes themselves were also singled out as a highlight in the report. Our hosts provide a warm, welcoming and safe environment where students can feel at ease and practise English naturally every day.
“The teachers’ homes visited during the inspection were of a very high standard.”
“Hosts went out of their way to ensure they offered a well-balanced, varied and appetising menu.”
Before the course begins, students and parents receive full details of the homestay, including photos, and have the chance to speak directly with the teacher and course manager.
A Flexible and Effective Way to Learn English
The inspectors also noted how well our one-to-one lessons support real, lasting progress. Courses are built around each student’s interests and level, and teachers help learners reflect, practise and build confidence in every lesson.
“Topics and materials were selected in collaboration with students and appropriate to age and level.”
“Lessons included reflection activities, and tasks were short... to allow successful completion and confidence building.”
“There was frequent reference made to work covered in previous lessons and constant reference to students' own situations and experience.”
Whether you're learning English for school, university, work, travel or personal growth, our courses are designed to help you succeed.
