Our Teachers |
All our teachers are carefully selected for their ability to deliver a professional English language course to meet your needs for learning English. Our teachers are fully police-checked (for under 18s) and receive full, on-going support and training from Living Learning English.
Our homestay teachers enjoy teaching English, hosting students and meeting people from all over the world. They all have a comfortable home, a flair for hospitality and enthusiasm for sharing their language, culture and location.
All our home tuition teachers have complete proficiency in English and an in-depth understanding of UK culture, either having completed full-time education in the UK or having a 9.0 in each of the 4 skill areas of IELTS.

Location: London
I enjoy teaching and hosting students and love learning about the different cultures and the countries they come from. I have met so many lovely students and I still hear from many of them from time to time.

Location: Harpenden, Hertfordshire
Hosting students in my home is a wonderful experience as I get to know so many interesting people from all walks of life and different nationalities. It’s like a cultural exchange as I show them a small part of our beautiful country and they experience life in an English family, whilst also achieving their learning goals.
At Living Learning English, we believe that excellent teaching comes from continual learning. That’s why our teachers receive structured, ongoing support and take part in a dedicated Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme throughout the year.
Our annual CPD programme runs year-round, with online training sessions offered every month. These sessions are designed specifically for our homestay and online teachers and focus on both theory and practical classroom skills, with ideas that can be applied immediately to real courses.
CPD topics regularly include:
Teaching one-to-one and small groups effectively
Supporting learners with academic, exam, or professional goals
Working with young learners and families
Cultural awareness and intercultural communication
Best practice in immersion learning and homestay teaching
Safeguarding, wellbeing, and student support
Teachers are encouraged to attend sessions regularly to refresh their knowledge, gain new perspectives, and stay connected to our wider teaching community. Alongside formal CPD sessions, teachers also receive ongoing guidance and support from our academic and management team.
This commitment to professional development ensures our students benefit from well-supported, reflective, and highly skilled teachers, and that teaching quality remains consistently high across all our programmes.
