A deposit of £200 should be paid on reserving a course. The £200 deposit is deducted from the final balance. The balance of the course fees is payable in full no less than four weeks before the start date of the course. We reserve the right to cancel any course that has not been paid.

Changes to your course

Want to postpone or change dates (change of mind)?

You can change the dates of your course at any time up to 4 weeks before the start date. Living Learning English will charge a course re-booking fee of £95 to cover administration charges and insurance when alterations to courses are requested after the course documentation has been issued.

Changed your mind after booking and want to cancel?

Any notification of cancellation or alteration to the course must be made in writing.

You have 14 days after your booking date to cancel and have a full refund.

If you cancel after 14 days of your booking date and before the final balance is due (4 weeks before the course starts) you will lose only your deposit (£200). After this time, the following fees are payable: between 28 and 15 days of the start of the course 80% of the total fees; within 14 days of the start of the course 100% of the total fees. Fees will not be refundable if a student arrives late or leaves before the end of their course.

You are protected against unforeseen cancellations of your course outside your control, either through your GuardMe travel insurance or LLE's refund policy.

Cannot travel due to an unforeseen insured event or illness?

You should be able to claim course fees and other costs on your GuardMe travel insurance. Check with your LLE course manager.

Cannot travel to the UK due to your country of residence or UK Government restrictions due to COVID-19?

There is no emergency medical cover for insurance claims as a direct result of Government travel restrictions for Covid-19 (prior known risk). In this case you have the following options:

- Transfer your LLE course online (no additional fees)

- Postpone your LLE course to a later date (£95 re-booking fee applies)

- Cancel and have a full refund of your LLE course fees, minus the £95 excess to cover administration and insurance.

Cannot return home due to COVID-19 or other infectious disease?

Your GuardMe insurance policy will cover you for any emergency medical treatment, quarantine and repatriation plus additional acommodation if you are unable to return home as planned.

What happens if my booked host teacher cannot accept me?

Family circumstances can change and the teacher that LLE has offered you at the time of booking may become unavailable due to illness or other circumstances. LLE reserves the right to change your teacher due to unforseen circumstances and will endeavour to offer you an aternative teacher, absorbing all additional costs.

Summer 2:1 (ages 12-21) -  2023 terms

LLE aims to match all young learners on a 2:1 course with a language learning partner of a similar age and level of English (different first language). We manage to match 95% of all our students. We cannot give a 100% guarantee, especially with current pandemic conditions, but we do our best!

What happens if LLE cannot find me/my child a language learning partner before the start of the course?

In this case, LLE will upgrade you to a 1:1 course for no extra charge (no change to exisiting policy).

What happens if my language learning partner cannot travel due to Government restrictions in their country of residence or UK Government restictions don't allow mixing of households before the start of the course?

You then have the following options:

- Change to a 1:1 course (1:1 fees apply)

- Postpone your course (£95 re-booking fee)

- Change to an online course (no additional fees)

- Cancel and have a full refund of your LLE course fees minus the £95 excess to cover administration and insurance.
